What a weekend
Wow. We had a very busy, extreemly fun, present packed weekend. Friday night mom came in town and we all went to a Holiday party/dinner/shower in Ruston. Thanks Adrienne, it was wonderful. We had a nice sit-down dinner at the Harper's house (parents of Matt and Ashley). The food was wonderful, the fellowship fabulous, and the gifts, well, perfect. We received some really nice Holiday decorations and useful things like a cookie-jar, and Christmas platter, a couple of stocking hangers, candles, and much much more. It was loads of fun.
Saturday morning mom and I met with Mrs. Sue (my brother's wife's mother) to talk about wedding flowers. I think between my mom and Mrs. Sue it's just about figured out. The flowers, like many things reguarding the wedding, are not something I'm real particular about. I am sure it will be lovely.
From there mom and I left to gather together Christin, Andrew, and Vickie and we headed for Texarkana. The Gies women threw a wonderful shower. I've never had such wonderful chocolate cake. It was really nice to see all the people from the church.
Mom left after the shower to get back to Nacogdoches and the rest of us stuck around over night. We went with Cathy, Rick, and Kara to this restaurant called "Nelly's". It is this really cool place on the out-skirts of town with most of the seating outdoors. They had great food and drinks and a live band to entertain us. I think we stayed there over two hours. Andrew and I even got up and danced (and no, there wasn't a dance floor). One other couple followed suit.
We got back at a reasonable time last night and enjoyed another meal together with friends. When it came time for me to leave Andrew's house I didn't make it far until my car stopped working. I'm still waiting to see what the problem is. But I know this much: You can't go very far with the accelerator out of commision. We're hoping it was only a momentary malfunction. Walking to work in 75+ with 100% humidity is no fun.
Over all, a wonderful weekend. Thanks to all those that made it possible.
