Tribute to friends

Last night I cooked dinner at Andrew's house for Andrew, Wesley(one of Andrew's groomsmen), and Lori(Wesley's girlfriend). I tried a few new things, most of which turned out well. We had Chicken-Marsala, Peas(that was the easy part), Garlic Mashed Potatos, and Rolls. For dessert we had Chocolate Soufflé . The dinner was pretty good except that it was cold when I served it because I didn't time things very well. And the dessert, well, it turns out you really ARE supposed to serve immediately. By the time dessert was served it was the opposite of airy. It was flat, very flat. It tasted ok I guess.

I have known Wesley longer than I've known Andrew. I met Wesley during my Sophomore year at Tech, his Freshman year. Wesley, like so many of my college friends, went to highschool with Andrew. It is really amazing how our friendships came from the same place--Ruston High School.
Before I knew Andrew, I use to say that Wesley was "the nicest guy I know". Well, he may not be the Nicest, but he is definitely a very nice guy. His girl friend, Lori, has also got to be one of the nicest people I know. She is genuinely sweet.
Last night was the first time we really spent individual time with them. Andrew and I enjoyed the evening very much. We covered a very broad spectrum in conversation and they left the house with arms full of books for their upcoming 24 hour flight to Johannesburg to see her family for the holidays. Wesley is meeting the parents...

Andrew and I are both looking foward to many more times like this with our college friends as they too, begin to further their relationship. We may be the first of our college friends to get married, but there is much to look foward to for each of them. For now though, it is great knowing they will be standing beside us at the wedding.

3 1/2 weeks!
