Pacifier free!
I made the commitment. First thing this morning (ok, so it was more like 9:00), I cut the end off of Gabriel's pacifier. He made it until nap time with no tears, then chewed on the end of the pacie for a bit, a little crying, then he was out. We made it through the rest of the day pretty well. But tonight, instead of latching on to blanket and pacie, he got blanket and daddy's watch. Yes, a watch. He went to bed clutching the watch and it is still very firmly gripped. Whatever works, right?
He really is much cuter without the pacifier in his mouth. And as long as I don't decide to take the blanket away for a while he should be happy.

Wow! Go you!!! We did the same for Stephen when we were expecting Lexie. I haven't found the strength to do Lexie yet. Definitely by this summer.

Well, truth be told, we gave in Thursday night. WE had four days of no naps, lots of crying, lots of spanking, and sleeping with a baby. So we decided he could have it at night and nap time...only in his bed. We figured that if it had been his thumb, we wouldn't be trying to take that away so soon. And the only real reason to take it now was because of the new baby. We figure that if he takes a pacifier from Jonah then he will get in trouble, whether it's to be mean or to have it for himself. So, yes, we're push-overs. But we slept last night!

I found your blog through Christen's! That is really cute about the watch thing! So, the new baby is another boy... don't think I've heard that! CONGRATULATIONS; that's awesome, but I might be a little biased towards boys :-)
