I wish I could blog

There have been many events lately that I would love to blog about, but it seems I can never find the time. I would love to blog about our recent trip to visit family and friends in KY, IL, and MO (especially about the little girl with a fear of buttons), but I can't. I would also enjoy blogging about my first week as a kindergarten teacher and all the fun stories that go along with that. But if I did that, some parents might read some things about their kids that they don't really want the rest of the world (or those five people that occasionally look at my blog) to know.

So I will just say, our trip was nice, but it's good to be home. As someone recently told me, there's nothing like a vacation to make you appreciate home. Kindergarten was great. I am so glad I have this job. Pregnancy is also great. I love being able to feel him moving around. Andrew is also excited that he can finally feel the little kicks. Gabriel is very active during church and when Andrew is reading to us. I can't believe that in four months (or less) we will have a baby.

Life is good.

Hello Kentucky

We made it. We're officially on vacation. We drove about 12 hours yerterday from Ruston to Louisville. The part of the drive I was awake for was beautiful. Northern Arkansas was emerald green. Tenessee went on forever. It was almost as bad as driving across Texas. The one thing we noticed though was that there seemed to be a Cracker Barrell about every ten miles. This turned out to be a good thing however, when at 10 pm we still had not eaten dinner. We planned to eat in Nashville, but somehow we drove right through it without really noticing it's presence. Finaly, when we had crossed the Kentucky state line, we found another random Cracker Barrell and enjoyed every minute of it. (Sarah said that if we had waited and eaten at the Cracker Barrell in Elizabethtown we could have seen Amish people. Wouldn't that have been fun?)
I did get quite a few things done on the drive up. I worked on lesson plans (school startes two days after we get back.) I slept a good bit. I read some of "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants." And Andrew listened to book on cd of some political comentarty book. He seemed to enjoy it.
We will be here until Monday morning. We are planning to tour Churchhill Downs and the Maker's Mark distillery (Andrew is really excited about the fact that you can dip your own bottle.)
Bright and early monday morning we head to Troy, IL, just on the boarder to MO, to see some of my family for a day. Then on for more driving and more Shipp family visiting.

For those that are interested

We're naming our baby boy Gabriel Andrew. If you're wondering what we're going to call him, we're not sure yet. He will probably be called both Gabriel and Gabe.

I've finally found a little hidden energy. This weekend a couple of friends came to visit and they helped me paint the baby's room. The first green color was a bit much and, according to some, the second color is still quite bright, but we like it. It's going to be fun to decorate. I also decided the rest of the house needs some color (though I've known that for a long time) so I painted one wall in the dining room a yellowish-gold. It adds a lot to the room and the house. I wish I could paint my room and the living room, but that would be an awful lot of work and more money than I am willing to spend right now.
Besides, I only have this week to get any other summer projects done. Andrew and I are leaving on a trip Friday for a week traveling through KY and IL to see family. When we get back I will start teaching.

This fall is going to be full of excitement. There's the new teaching thing, Andrew's graduating and taking the LSAT (and hopefully getting a really great job for nine months before Law School) and then Gabriel will be here before we know it!
