Weekend Travels

This will be our last weekend of travelling for quite some time. After a month of being gone every weekend, we will be staying put for the duration of the summer. This weekend should be really nice though. Gabriel is staying with Gran and Papa while Andrew and I go to Fort Worth for a wedding and a little relaxation.
It has been a busy month, and I am ready to be at home for a while, but I am sure that I am going to be ready to get out and about before I am really able to. With the baby coming in late June, I figure we're stuck here until August, at which point Andrew will be starting back to school and so we won't be going anywhere.
All that to say, PEOPLE, come visit this summer!

Craving

Real Strawberry Pie. (Strawns would be perfect.)
We spent almost an hour calling through the phone book in search of strawberry pie. There is none to be found in Waco.
I am a very dissapointed pregnant lady.

Potty Update

Gabriel is doing better than I expected at the potty training. We are up to about half and half ratio of pottying on the potty vs. on the floor. We've been setting the kitchen timer for about 30 minutes appart and he sits and goes. I guess I am going to have to take that timer with me everywhere for a while so I can get him to go on command. But hey, if that works, that's fine with me.
Do you know how cute little boy underwear is? It's so funny to see him wearing underwear. I'm so proud of my little guy!
I have actually enjoyed this week. Since I am watching for him to pee on the floor constantly I have gotten to play with him a lot more (though not much else gets done while he's awake). He has been a lot of fun and he is saying a lot more and imitating sounds more. I'm sure that this potty training stuff is going to get mroe stressful as the days go by, but for now I'm enjoying the continuous interaction with him.

Today is the first time we've really gotten out this week with Gabriel. I wanted to go find him some replacement sandals at the Children's Place. He wore out shoes for the first time and I can't find any other sandals that fit his fat little ankles. Unfortunately they didn't have his size (none on their website either.) They did, however, have a great sale going on. Tons of stuff was marked down to $4.99 or less. Now all I need is a couple hundred bucks to spend on clothes and I could have my boys dressed for the fall and next spring. I just love that store.

In pregnancy news, I think I really have hit the nesting stage. With just about 10 weeks to go I am really wanting to have everything ready for baby. I have been cleaning out closets and trying to get the baby clothes organized. I've packed up things that don't fit Gabriel, and unplacked little baby things. I just need to re-arrange the boy's room to be a little more efficient since we won't be moving into the bigger place until a couple of months after Jonah gets here. Now, if I could just get the incentive to clean the bathrooms then I'd KNOW I'm "nesting."

My baby's growing up

Today we jumped right in to potty training. At 16 months this may be a chore, but I think it will be worth it not to have two in diapers in a couple months. Gabriel did surprisingly well with it. We had lots of puddles to clean up, but about four times he made a little into the potty and he even shocked us both by pooping on the potty. (is that to personal to post on a blog?) We are so proud of our little guy. I hope that tomorrow is as encouraging as today was and that it's not too weird having another little boy around (the little one I keep a few days a week.) I just hope Gabriel doesn't decide to pee on him!

Easter Weekend

The week prior to Easter we took Gabriel out to try to get some pictures of him. Unfortunately he is at the no-cooperation stage for picture taking. There were too many other things for him to see and get into so he really didn't want to sit still, much less smile. We still got a few decent ones though.

Easter in Nacogdoches was enjoyable. Saturday we got to play in the snow. I had to pull out the video camera to capture the once-in-a-lifetime footage of snow in April in east Texas. It will probably never happen again.

I don't have any pictures of him actually in his Easter outfit because it was too cold and he was wearing a jacket the whole time. I will take some this weekend though since he should be able to wear his new Gran-made outfit again. (it's very cute)

And a shot of his curls...he's starting to take after Pops (Andrew's dad).

***************************
Jonah is doing well too. My doctor's appointment went well today. She says that I'm measuring about three weeks further along than my due date, which is the same thing they said with Gabriel at about this point. Gabriel was 2 1/2 weeks early so maybe Jonah will be too. It would be nice to think that I have 9 weeks to go instead of 12! It's time to go pre-register at the hospital.
