Baby Update

I went to the doctor yesterday and she says I only have about two weeks to go.(Two weeks sounds SO much better than five.) I'm at 3 cm now, which is great news. With Gabriel I wasn't even at one the day before he was born. Hopefully that means this time will go much faster. She also said that next time I come in, at 37 weeks, she will do some stuff (I don't want to post the icky details) that will probably put me into labor if I am not already by then. I go in June 13th and should have a baby either that day or shortly thereafter. Yay!
Now I've got to make a list of things to get done around here, and then actually do them. Andrew said to make a list for him and he'd think about doing some of it:)
Actually, Andrew has been great these last few weeks while he's between school and job (by the way, he starts working Friday.) He has been really helpful both with housework and with Gabriel. Gabriel and I will both be sad when he starts working. We will be very bored without him. (And probably grumpy too.)
We are giving the potty training a few more days of intense work. He does well when the circumstances are right: At home and naked. Now we're working on wearing underwear and I'm not very optimistic. If it doesn't catch on in the next few days I don't think we're going to survive. I can only handle so many accidents in a day before I fall to pieces. (I am getting really sick of all these hormones, they're not helping anybody.) I guess if it doesn't work now we'll try again in a few months after I've had a chance to settle into being a mother of two and after Gabriel has a chance to get use to having another baby around that takes away HIS mama's attention.

I'm not really concerned or worried about the labor and delivery, though perhaps I should be, but I am worried about practically everything else. Again, the hormones are not helping. Any last minute advice from other mom's of multiple kids? I don't think there's much I can do to prepare Gabriel, but what about me?

Sprinkle Park Pictures

Finally...here they are.
We've gone back a few times with some friends, and Gabriel continues to enjoy the sprinkle park. We are going to have lots of fun at this place if it ever stops raining!

And another picture of the little guy in his dinosaur towel. I'll have to get one from the other side next time...it's really cute.

The Park

This evening after dinner, we decided to head out to the park. A friend of mine told me about a new park she had come across that would be good for a toddler. She was right! Gabriel had a lot of fun swinging and sliding, we were even able to fly a kite. (Waco has the perfect weather for kite flying, it's almost always windy.) I even got the kite up, which I think may be the first time ever for me.
While we were at the park we noticed a sprinkle park and wondered when it would be turned on. A little later we looked over there again and it was going. As it turns out all you have to do is push a button. So we took Gabriel over there, stripped him down to his pull-up and let him go. He had a blast playing with a 4 year old little girl that was there. We really enjoyed watching him go. (I'll post some pictures of it soon.)
We now know what we'll be doing the next few months. These sprinkle parks are all over Waco, and best of all, they're free. I can't wait to go back with friends. I could sit and watch him for hours.

Photo Update

Things here are about the same. Gabriel is still potty training, and I'm still pregnant.

Gabriel is doing pretty well with the potty training. We have our good days and our bad days. Fortunately for me, today was a good day. He actually heads towards the potty when he needs to go. Unfortunately, he starts going as soon as he starts walking towards the potty. It's progress though.

He gets really excited when we clap for his success. He laughs and claps, then he gets a reward. (See the blue tongue.)

And then there's me. Pregnant and growing. I'm feeling pretty well, still nesting though, and wondering why the nesting phase doesn't hit until the end of the pregnancy when I don't have the energy or the ability to get up and down cleaning things. Oh well, things are getting done slowly but surely.

And Andrew is finished with his first year of law school. YAY! Now he is in search for a summer job. I have sure enjoyed having him home the last week.
