1 month update

Jonah is actually 5 weeks old now, hard to believe. He has met most of his family (grandparents, aunts, and uncles, but not Aunt Sarah or the Greats.) He is still gaining weight very slowly, but gaining nonetheless. He was Baptized yesterday by his Papa Booth at Redeemer Pres. in Waco. We were happy to have family and friends here with us. We celebrated with a small gathering at the Gunn's house.

3 weeks

Jonah had another check up today. He weighed in at 6 lb 9 oz. It's not great, but it's something. Feeding isn't going perfectly yet, but it is getting better I guess. We're going to try a few more tricks to get things flowing well.
I went to the LLL meeting last night and got a few pointers and lots of support. Mostly it's just helpful to talk to people.

We're going to see HP on Friday. We'll be taking Jonah to his first movie before his big brother has even been to the movies! (Jonah will sleep, Gabriel would NOT.) We're very excited about it.

2 week check up

Jonah is a hefty 6 lb 7 oz now, up two ounces from last Thursday. It's not much, but at least we're headed in the right direction now. The pediatrician said the jaundice could have had something to do with the bruising, and all that could have an effect on his weight gain/interest in eating. He still doesn't seem to have a big appetite. The doctor also said she wants to watch him in case he's lactose intolerant. We will go back again next week to check his weight again. He's still a pound below birth weight so hopefully by then we'll be getting closer to 7 lb 7 oz again.
He still seems happy though, and has amazing head control for such a little guy. He's so little that last night Andrew went out to get preemie diapers (they were half off at walmart.) I am also going to borrow some preemie size clothes from a friend at church. I never thought I would have a baby that would fit into preemie clothes! It's kind of fun having such a little guy, too bad it's because he isn't growing.
